Dear Reader, I am writing to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to the community and our partners for their unwavering support and collaboration during a critical time for behavioral health services in our rural communities. On the Western Slope, we are in a behavioral health services "desert", with provider shortages and access barriers to needed services. Often local behavioral health providers face operational, capacity and staffing challenges, and many times the community must step up to support patients transitioning out of facilities so that they can continue to receive the right care. In challenging times like these, we are so grateful for the invaluable assistance extended to us by Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), who makes supporting our community the priority. Under the leadership of Patrick Gordon, RMHP's support has helped us quickly respond to the community's needs through an expansion of our existing behavioral health services. Their swift action and generous contribution have been instrumental in expanding care for patients on the Western Slope and has reaffirmed our shared commitment to the well-being of our community. The importance of preserving and enhancing behavioral health services in rural communities cannot be overstated. Our collective efforts have not only safeguarded access to essential care but have also reinforced the resilience and strength of our community. On behalf of Delta Health, I wish to extend our sincerest gratitude to RMHP and to each and every individual and organization that has played a role in supporting our community's continuity of care. You are a strong reminder of the power of collaboration in overcoming adversity.
