Nurse Manager (RN) Volunteers of America National Services Horizons Care Center, located in beautiful Eckert, Colorado, is looking for an RN Nurse Manager to join our team. The primary purpose of the Nurse Manager is to supervise the day-to-day activities of the assigned nursing station(s). The Nurse Manger is responsible for the coordination, planning implementing, and evaluating the nursing services provided to each resident on a 24-hour basis. This role also supervises the direct care staff assigned to the Nurse Manager's Unit/Household. About our facility.Horizons is a small skilled nursing facility located just minutes from the outdoor life on the Grand Mesa & the city life of Grand Junction. We average a census of 37-55 residents and offer skilled nursing, long term care, inpatient and out patient rehabilitation, memory care, respite care, and end of life services. We are looking for a Rockstar to join our nursing team! Core Responsibilities: . Provides leadership and direction in the nursing department Open communication with all staff, customers, guests, residents and families Follows all shift routines, policy and procedures regarding monitoring of vital signs, weights, administration of medications and treatments Immediately reports any suspected abuse or neglect per facility policy Accurately utilizes electronic systems of documentation as required per facility policy Assist the Director of Nursing as needed. Compensation and Benefits: This position is full time exempt with a base salary of $75,000-81,500. New full time nurses at Horizons also get a recruitment bonus of $5,000, to be paid quarterly over the next 24-months. Current licensure in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse. 2 Current CPR Certification. 3. Maintenance of required CEU's. 4. Good problem solver with abilities to make independent judgments utilizing initiative, discretion and the nursing process as needed. 5. Demonstrates leadership ability. 6. Effective communicator with staff, families and outside agencies. 7. Ability to prioritize duties. 8. Customer service oriented with knowledge of successful customer service techniques. 9. Clinical competence to utilize the nursing process to perform physical and cognitive assessments of residents. 10. Ability to utilize computers and other electronic devices for tasks such as timekeeping, in-servicing and documentation. 11. Must be a team player. 12. Understanding of current Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention and Infection Control and OSHA guidelines. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience in long-term care preferred.
