HISTORY Colorado UTE INDIAN MUSEUM In honor of Women's History Month we recognize CHIPETA (1843-1924), wife of Chief Ouray, who is buried on the grounds of the museum. She was born a Kiowa Apache & raised by the Utes. She was a leader of her time in a changing world.
