We all took big knives from our kitchens...the big ones, with 8-10 inch blades. We were out there hacking palmetto branches like crazy and then weaving them into sides and roofs for our forts. When the forts were built, we used the knives to play pirates. We went home when the street lights came on, sneaked the big knives back into our kitchens and actually had all fingers and toes still attached!!
