The war of... .. the weeds has begun. Someone tell me how we can have so little moisture all winter and spring and the weeds are coming up like there is no tomorrow! I know, I know-grass is sissy and weeds go into survival mode. I attack the weeds in my lawn and beds with my handy dandy little weed digger. It's absolutely mindless work and gives me an opportunity to think about a lot of things, like the raccoon that has recently taken up residence, or the snake that sometimes lurks near one of the lilacs. Sometimes, I get really thoughtful about life in general. I have decided that when it comes right down to it, I will be a weed- survive and thrive.
