Debbie Reed My mom and my Marine dad.... drilled manners into me from a young age. I was in the bank a few years ago and there was an older woman behind me in line. She looked a bit tired so I asked the gal behind me if she minded if I offered this lady the spot in front of us. She graciously agreed and I said, "Ma'am, would you care to move up in front of me?" Sounds innocent, right? Wrong, Bucko! Her response was a testy "why would I want to do that?" which immediately froze us all in position. I replied "because you are older than me and my mom raised me to be polite." She regally nodded her head at my recognition of her senior status, walked past me with a measured step, and said "well, your mother raised you right". I'm thinking this woman should have a position in government. She would take no prisoners, kick booty, and take names!
